GP RATING

GP Rating is a 6-months residential course designed to equip student with the skills and knowledge for a successful career in the Merchant Navy. This course combines academic learning with practical training to ensure that students are well-prepared for the demands of the maritme sector. Affiliated with the Indian Maritime University (IMU) and approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (Govt. of India). The curriculum provides comprehensive training in general ship knowledge and marine engineering, equipping successful trainees to join the merchant shipping as trainees in either the deck or engine departments with further sea service will be promoted. Trainees will engage in tasks related to seamanship, cargo handling, deck maintenance or operation of ship machinery, maintenance of ship machinery. With further experience and sea service and clearing exams, can rise up to the rank of Master/ Chief Engineer. Candidates are qualified to work on ships of all sizes and types, including cargo vessels, tankers, passenger ships, cruise and offshore vessels.
