DIPLOMA IN NAUTICAL SCIENCE

Diploma in Nautical Science is a residential 1-Year course designed to train candidates for career as Deck Officers in the Merchant Navy. This course combines academic learning with practical training. Affiliated with the Indian Maritime University (IMU) and approved by the Directorate General of Shipping (Govt. of India). The curriculum covers key areas such as navigation, ship operation, cargo handling, maritime law and safety at sea. Candidates are qualified to work as Deck Officers on ships of all sized and types, including cargo vessels, tankers, passenger ships, cruise and offshore vessels. DNS course is a course leading to B.Sc. Nautical Science after 18 months of sea service and also leading to 2nd mate foreign going certificate of competency.

All candidates applying for DNS Nautical Science course also needs to appear for a common entrance test (CET) conducted by the indian maritime university (IMU).
